On Friday, Feb. 3, the CSMI office supported Go Red for Women by participating in National Wear Red Day, which is held the first Friday in February every year to raise awareness about heart disease being the No. 1 killer in women.
In 2003, the American Heart Association and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute took action against the disease that was claiming the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year. Since then, 90 percent of women have made at least one behavior change.
Everyone at the CSMI office wore red, shared heart-healthy snacks, and received health tips.
