Dan Weinles, Ph.D., is Vice President of Assessment, Research & Evaluation at CSMI. In this role, Dr. Weinles oversees the implementation of formative and summative assessments, evaluates school-based programs and interventions, and provides data analysis and related support to our client schools.
Dr. Weinles joined CSMI after serving for more than eight years as the Supervisor of Assessment, Research & Evaluation of the Christina School District in Wilmington, Delaware. During his time in that position, he led the development of a series of data reporting systems and dashboards designed to improve district and school-level data awareness and empower educational leaders to improve practice based on data trends and analyses. Prior to joining the Christina School District, Dr. Weinles served in research and leadership roles within a number of non-profit social service and educational organizations in the City of Philadelphia, including Director of Research for Philadelphia and Sound and Program Evaluator for the School District of Philadelphia's Office of Research and Evaluation.
In every position in which he has served across the past two decades, Dr. Weinles has maintained a strong commitment to serving urban and low-income communities with equal attention to excellence and equity, supporting and promoting opportunities for others with the goal of improving the quality of peoples' lives. In the educational context, Dr. Weinles has focused much attention to developing the capacity of school leadership and staff to more effectively use data and evaluative information in order to improve educational practices and promote positive student outcomes.
Dr. Weinles received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, his M.Ed. in Elementary Education, and his Ph.D. in Urban Education from Temple University in Philadelphia.
