Max Tribble is the Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for CSMI Consulting Group. Mr. Tribble is responsible for all external communications, including media and public relations as well as communications with federal, state and local government. He also serves as the company’s director of government affairs, advising lawmakers and public officials on charter school policy and interfacing with state and local agencies.
Mr. Tribble previously co-founded Washington Advocacy Group, a consulting firm which he managed for eight years. He was also a principal in the Washington, DC lobbying and advocacy firm, McGovern & Smith. At both firms, he managed client interests for a variety of non-profit, philanthropic and corporate interests.
Mr. Tribble has represented interests in various sectors of the healthcare and defense industries, as well as major corporations in the telecom, Internet, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. He has worked in the energy industry representing clients in renewable energy as well as oil and gas. In addition to representing clients before the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, he has represented interests before the Department of Justice, the Department of Education, the Department of State, and other federal departments and agencies. Some notable clients Mr. Tribble represented as a consultant include Yahoo!, Amgen, SAP America, and LANXESS, among dozens of others. He has consulted for various foreign heads of state in Europe, Africa and Central America.
Prior to his advocacy work, Mr. Tribble was Deputy Finance Director for Senator Arlen Specter's successful 2004 re-election campaign, managing national fundraising and direct mail. From 2005 to 2006, he also served as Interim Finance Director for Senator Specter’s 2010 campaign. Mr. Tribble has worked as a consultant to dozens of other federal, state and local political campaigns and ballot initiatives, including four campaigns for incumbent United States Senators.
Mr. Tribble has been involved in formulation of charter school policy on the state level and has extensive experience representing the charter school movement before government. He was a founding member of an alliance of Pennsylvania charter schools. At CSMI, Mr. Tribble formulates external messaging to advocate for alternative public education opportunities. He has also been intimately involved in ongoing litigation with local and state entities for the past decade.
Mr. Tribble was born in Topeka, Kansas, and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He attended Kansas State University, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics and History. Mr. Tribble previously served on the Board of Directors for the Lancaster County Conservancy, which is responsible for the preservation of more than 5,200 acres of nature areas, hiking trails and preserves throughout Lancaster and York Counties. He also served two terms on the Board of Governors of the Lancaster Country Club, during which the Club hosted the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open. Mr. Tribble has a teenage son with whom he actively enjoys downhill skiing, golf, tennis and fishing.
